crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

My computer randomly restarted during Sims. Luckily, I'd saved right beforehand (I thought the computer was acting a little funny). Hmph.
-RPD: This is seriously cutting into my muse duties.-
Yeah, I know. Luckily, I think I've narrowed down the problem -- you see, I spotted a topic on the MATY board that someone had a similar problem to mine during that whole Thanksgiving episode. I checked it out -- and now I'm very suspicious that the problem is my nVidia card. Apparently the things aren't the best to use with Sims. *misses her old ATI card* Damn, why couldn't they install that one. . . .
-TD: Do you think it could be anything else? Overheating, viruses --
I have two very annoying virus programs on my computer, so can't be a virus. I suppose overheating is an option, but still, I'm mostly suspicious of the card. Doesn't help that it's a shade under what's officially supported. . . .
-VD2: Thinking you would have been better off sticking with your Vaio again?-
I'm starting to think I should have just spent the money to get a custom-built computer or something. With this one I get the occasional random shut-down and graphical glitches (Holly and John have disappeared from their family picture in their house -- they're still listed in the list though, and Lorraine was able to call John from the McFly house, so I don't think they've vanished), with the Vaio I had massive slowdowns whenever I tried to leave the house. *deep sigh* I just can't fricking win.
-RPD: *patpat* I'll be okay.-
I hope so. At least my current backup includes Emmett proposing to Gypsy -- he did it on the 12th, the backup's from the 14th.
-HD: Wouldn't want to lose that. But what about your Eureka Sims?-
I haven't played with them enough to lose anything. It would be exceedingly simple to recreate everyone's first days so far. At any rate, I'll be making a new backup soon.
-RPD: How far did you get with today's play session?-

Well, the day started out really early -- I had everyone start greening via red-hands and bathroom visits. The Docs worked together to harvest the money trees, then got in a chat outside.

George cooked up breakfast while Doc worked on robots and Emmett went to the telescope. I had originally intended for George to be abducted, and even got so far as to try it out, but something weird happened with the memory tokens -- for some reason, Eileen and Emmett, witnesses to the event, recalled it being DOC who was abducted. Not wanting my game to get all screwed up, I exited without saving.
-M: Too bad. Messed up hack?-
Maybe. . . Though I've used that telescope before without a problem, to get Julia. Could be a Pets thing, though.

Anyway, breakfast was enjoyed by all, then Lorraine and George did some very smooth-moves dancing. Notice his hand is stuck in the table. :p

Then it was George's turn on the robot bench -- despite some defective early models, he quickly earned his bronze.

Emmett's getting along very well with the other members of the household -- he gladly accepted an admire from George, and made friends with Lorraine with the help of some jokes.

Outside friendships are doing well -- I had everyone call up their lowest-ranked friend to talk. Doc called Abijheet, Lorraine Pollination Tech #9, George Pascal, and Emmett Josephine (last two pictured).

Eileen invited her lowest over, Talin. Things went very well at first, as they did some romantic stuff autonomously. Eileen even developed a crush!

And then it all went to shit, as Talin rejected both a directed squeeze and an autonomous caress. WTF, it's okay if you do it, but not Eileen? Crush gone, Eileen did some basic friendshippy stuff and sent him on his way.

At least Doc got his Silver Robotery Badge while this was going on.

Eileen dished up a Berry Pie afterwards -- the Mcflys partook while Emmett studied and Doc took a nap.

And this is what I mean by a well-timed crash -- everyone was exhausted, so I was going to send them to bed early anyway. I'm looking at it as an opportunity to try and get George abducted again next time. First, though, I want to ask on the [livejournal.com profile] thesims2 LJ community about that. Maybe also get another opinion on the computer crash issue.
-RPD: I would.-
-TD: Sure you don't want a clockwork computer?-
If it wouldn't confuse the hell out of my parents. . . .

And oh, can't forget:

Most unique self-portrait ever.
-M2: You love that custom painting option, don't you?-
Adore it. Gotta add more BTTF paintings, though.

On the writing front, today was actually a pretty good day -- got more edited on "V.D." and more written on "Marty in Wonderland." Also fulfilled my page requirement in "The Gift and the Curse."
-OD: *tentacles squee* This new productive you is rather puzzling, but we like it.-
Heh, yeah. It's weird how watching TAS seemed to jumpstart my brain. Perhaps I give that series too little credit.
-HD: I've seen the show. Trust me, you give it too much credit.-
LoL, and you say this AFTER reading my rant. . . .
-DW: I think it's because we approach it from different angles. As you stated in a comment to [livejournal.com profile] smudge_pot, you see the cartoon as something akin to the situation in "Roger Rabbit" -- animated actors. We're seeing it straight, and -- what's the term? "The goggles, they do nothing?"-
*giggle* Yeah. Come on, guys, think of them as Toons! Think of Doc complaining about the lines he's given! Think of Marty ardently protesting the episodes where he's seen openly flirting with other women! Think of Clara delivering the smackdown of epic proportions on the director for that sequence where she had to lock Doc out of the car!
-J: Think of me wondering why I look like the human version of a Chipette!-
. . . *helpless giggles*
-J2: Well, it's true.-
Anyway, back to work -- let's see if I can get "V.D." edited for the 30th.
