This Mother's Day, I Got a Present

Mom decided we should all see Spider-Man 3 together! :) Granted, this turned my plans for the day topsy-turvy (no writing, and I only have the eurekasims Emma update instead of both that and a revison_doc update), but hey, getting out to the movies was worth it.

Thoughts:

-->When Peter is popular, Peter becomes an idiot. Seriously, he does.
-->Ael, you're right -- Peter Parker just cannot be badass. A JACKass, yes. . . . I was sniggering wildly through that part of the movie.
-->Gwen Stacey -- why? I understand her role in the movie, but it was small enough that it didn't actually have to be Gwen, I don't think. *shrug*
-->Stan Lee's cameo -- fricking hilarious. :p
-->Sandman -- I still don't quite agree with the logic of making HIM Uncle Ben's killer. But he had some amazing special effects, and he kicked some nice ass.
-->Venom -- Love that suit. I love the way it crawls around like a spider itself, loved Venom's look, love the whole thing. He would have been perfect if they'd just remembered the tongue. And if he'd been in a little more of the movie. (No, not Eddie, VENOM.)
*pause*
And they never called him by name either! WTF? (And speaking of names, in regards to the actor -- who names their kid Topher?)

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience (even if I DID have to get up during one of the slow MJ/Peter sequences and rush to the toilet). I'd rank it below the first two Spideys, but above X-3. If only because more actually HAPPENED in this one. At least "Badass"Peter did stuff, as oppossed to BadassJean mostly just staring into space.


Okay, gonna try to at least get a little more done on the DVD cut of "Ich Liebe Dich." I also want to reread some fanfic -- my own "BTTX-2: Time of the Spider" and KS's "The Space Zombie From Planet Vulcan" -- specifically that scene where Marty gets stuck in the radiation suit. Because, suddenly, I REALLY get it. (You should have seen the size of the soda I got at the theater -- AND IT WAS A SMALL!) Also must explore Futurepedia -- why did no one tell me about it?!

Apparently his name is Christopher, but either his parents nicked his name so it wasn't like every other kid name Christopher, or else the Screen Actor's Guild already had a Chris/Christopher Grace. I can't remember which.

Oh, nothing wrong with his acting -- I just thought it was odd. And now that I know it's short for Christopher *points at above comments* it makes a lot more sense.

OMG. Venom....was...freakin AWESOME!! And I agree with pretty much everything you just said. I liked Peter's emo hair, that was kinda hot but yeah...he should NOT try to be cool. It just doesn't work. I cringed throughout that whole scene. In my head I was like, "Please GOD be over soon!" And Eddie was an ass. LoL. Ending was total cheese fest but...that's to be continued if they ever make a 4th one (which they probably will). All in all, I'd go see it again *^__^*
