Holidays More Or Less Over
Jan. 2nd, 2011 11:53 pmThe new year is upon us, and hopefully the worst of the craziness has passed.
-TD: We'll see, we'll see.-
*eyes him* Anyway, not too much to report. Played some Sims earlier, though not quite enough for an update. EMMETT BROWN, TECHNO-WIZARD has started doing actual magic, which is nice. What's less nice is that he has almost no money, but you can't have everything.
-RPD: Has he at least gotten a bookcase by now?-
Yeah, regular watering of the money tree produced just enough to afford the cheapest one. Damn, am I grateful to Mr. Humble for the computer! Also, I'd really like Rosemarie to stop calling him every day now. She's starting to freak me out a little.
The Turret's birthday party is still ongoing, of course. And on the writing front, Butterfly Boy's Winter Bingo Post has been updated! Two prompts are up -- I've actually written five, but I've been tagging with Steve & Gary some, so the others will probably be put up after midnight. I'm hoping to complete (in the sense of "five prompts in a line") at least two cards, maybe three. We'll see.
Oh, and a question to anyone who's edited their comment text (you know, from "leave a comment" to "write something here" or stuff like that) -- how do you get the "# comments" text to display like the rest of it. I have "release a butterfly" for
8butterflyboy8's comment text, but leaving comments just has "# comments" instead of "# butterflies released" like I wanted. And I can't figure out where in LJ's FAQ they've hidden that info. Any help would be appreciated.
Okay, I have the last of the "First Person Let's Play of American McGee's Alice" to watch. Mostly because I want to see if this guy EVER FRICKING USES THE JABBERWOCK'S EYE STAFF. Seriously, it's like this guy has FORGOTTEN he has a superweapon! *facepalms* Ah well. Anyway, catch y'all later.

Date: 2011-01-03 06:50 am (UTC)Now, I'm no expert at Livejournal, but when I changed my comment text, I did the "# comments" on the same page as the "write something here" part of it; it was the very next dialogue box. If the box didn't show up for you, the only thing I can think of is that your layout doesn't support that option, though I honestly can't imagine why it would support one and not the other. This (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=171&view=full) is the page I used to figure out how to do it, if that's helpful at all.
(I feel I ought to mention that I don't usually randomly pop out of the woodwork to give iffy tech advice. I just happened to stumble across the Victor journal in question last night, and then I spent the better part of today happily reading Secundus. Time well spent - and in return, I humbly offer my iffy tech advice. ;D I'm Finch, by the way!)

Date: 2011-01-03 11:44 am (UTC)I loved, loved, LOVED the first one, btw. Would've been cooler in my head if he'd said "You are not alone" instead of the contraction but that's just my inner Whovian and Michael Jackson fan talking (DAMN I can't wait for that game!!! *ahem* sorry...). :D It's awesome anyway.
