Tuesday = Cough Day
Aug. 20th, 2013 10:00 pmMy turn to hack up stuff and constantly blow my nose. >.< I'm not entirely sure if taking Mucinex this morning made things better or worse on that front. Erugh. What's said is that my brain's feeling pretty much clear, so I'd say I'm ready for tags -- except I keep picturing the coughing breaking up my flow, especially since I've had some pretty nasty fits. Spirit is willing, flesh is weak. *headdesk* I want to get back to something resembling productive work, damn it! Maybe if I just buckle down tomorrow morning and get at it first thing. . .
Hasn't been all bad today, though. Helloween had another amusing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. set up, and Linkara's second episode on "The Culling" was quite good. It's always nice to see him in prime ranting form. My parents also left me to have dinner by myself (they're feeling better, and it's Mom's first real day off since she GOT sick, so basically they spent every second they could at various beaches), so I went ahead and watched Corpse Bride. Hey, if I'm not answering tags, I might as well canon-review for my most-used set of muses. And it's kind of a tradition for me to watch either CB or Hot Fuzz when I'm sick, so. . . Good to see the movie again -- and I have to say, Victor has some very amusing facial expressions. My regular beta-reviewer (as I have just decided to call her) said in a review to another story that Victor's not really the sarcastic type -- maybe not openly, but he's got some great eyerolls and "oh great" looks. XD Time for more
forgotten_vows icons, perhaps. (Maybe that's how I should get myself back into doing tags -- work up into it via icons tonight.)
Other thing of note today: Sims 4 news! Yes, this is a thing -- they have milked Sims 3 for all its worth, it appears, so time to move onto the next edition of their favorite cash cow franchise! And -- I am in fact kind of intrigued. I actually don't mind this new more "cartoony" look for the Sims -- in fact, I'm one of those weirdos who actually PREFERS it. Sims 3 Sims to me always looked too -- Uncanny Valley-ish. This is more fun-looking. And the brief gameplay demo they do in this video is rather interesting. Apparently Sims are getting more emotional and smarter (I'll believe THAT when I see it -- one of the staples of the series is that Sims are morons), but what really got me was Create-A-Sim. You can make Sims as fat or as skinny as you like now, it seems. Which means you can make big-and-beautiful -- or noodle people.
Sims 4, if you can give me a Victor Van Dort Sim that has the ACTUAL CORRECT PHYSIQUE of Victor, you may just win me over.
As it is, though, even if I decide I do want to get this, I'll probably wait until it's been out for a while and gotten the first of any necessary patches. Hell, it would probably be wise to wait until it had an expansion pack or two out, to see if I could grab a bundle deal. It's not slated to come out until 2014, so hopefully by that time I'll a) be employed and b) be ready to get a better computer. We'll see.
For now, I may act on that icon impulse -- and maybe do a little late-night Sims 2ing. Because why the hell not, I've been thinking of the game enough.

As for your cold, ick! I hope it clears up soon!

Me too -- though I'm feeling better this morning! Still somewhat stuffed up, but not as bad as I was yesterday.
