Quiet Saturday (for reals)
Aug. 24th, 2013 10:09 pmAlthough this is at least partially because a) I had to help out with the house cleaning again today & b) I ended up sleeping until almost noon. On the plus side, I did freaking sleep last night. Temperature's been a bit cooler as of late, so that helps a lot. Well, that and dosing myself with the Nyquil. Wanted to take a walk today, but a combination of lateness plus some nasty coughing convinced me not to. I'll try for one tomorrow, though. I want to get back into that habit.
Poked around CCRI's website to see what they had to offer for job-related stuff. There's a few training programs (like an Office Skills one, and a few things related to PACE) -- it's a bit hard to get solid info on them, though. Like when stuff actually starts. At least everything would be on Knight Campus, which is the one I can get to the easiest. I'll have to keep looking -- and hope I can find something that isn't incredibly expensive. Can't take the class if I can't AFFORD the class! Also, a paint shop in Narragansett is looking for cashier help, it seems. I should see if I can find the place and apply. Any job is better than no job, and real ads seem to come up very rarely on Craigslist. (Maybe my walk tomorrow or Monday should just be going around seeing if anybody needs help? Minimum wage wouldn't be ideal, but it would be something.)
Also continuing my glut of Sims videos -- watched someone play Sims 1 today. It was hilarious in that -- well, that game is SHOCKINGLY HARD. I'd forgotten how fast needs went down in it! Social was ALWAYS a problem for the one guy the LPer -- The Sims Supply -- was playing at the end. He wanted his Sim to become rich and famous (via Superstar), but as he put it, "All he does is eat and take showers!" I think he's done some Sims 2 playing as well, I should check that out. The guy is actually currently in Germany, I believe, getting advance info on The Sims 4. Lucky, huh? I keep poking for informational tidbits on that. What I've seen so far looks interesting, honestly.
Also interesting -- BTTF decor downloads on ModTheSims & tumblr. Trying to decide if I should get them or not. . . Honestly, I need to get back into playing that too. I'm starting to miss it.
For now, though, I think I should see if anything's happened on tumblr.

Date: 2013-08-25 06:25 am (UTC)Yeeps! I'm sure I set my share of fires too -- I just don't remember properly, sadly. Ah well.
Yeah: here for the initial set, and here for part two. Included is Doc's mind-reading helmet, the giant amp, the dog-feeding machine (in three bits), and toolboxes. :D
