crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)
Another relatively painless procedure, though it was a bit more involved this time -- they advised drinking a fair bit of water both before and after getting stuck, and I had to have my temperature taken with one of those temperature guns. Also more people this time around, though I just did my best to keep away from others as much as possible. At least it was over and done with pretty fast! My arm's a little sore again, but I wouldn't say it hurt as much as the last time (possibly because I did try to drink a fair bit of water over the course of the day?). Just glad to have that over with! Until the inevitable booster shot, of course. . .

Anyway, that took up most of my morning -- the rest of the day, however, was dedicated to my to-do list:

1. Watch at least the OXBox list videos in my Watch Later and keep up on YouTube Subs: Check! Everything in the Subs list, plus two from the Watch Later; not bad at all –

A) Started with a pre-gaming watch of James Turner renovating one of his old Sims 3 builds on Aluna Isle – turning a sort of half-octagon art gallery into a semi-functional restaurant! I say “semi-functional” because apparently that was never an official lot type in the game, and you could only do restaurants if you bought a certain store set (or had the food synthesizer from Into the Future). I remain unimpressed with The Sims 3. James did his best with the lot, but it didn’t turn out QUITE the way he had envisioned it – his choice of dark wood tones for the interior means it ended up super-dark inside, even with a ton of debug lights, and his kitchen ended up a weird pointy thing because he couldn’t find any shelves for his intended storage area. And he lined the entire bathroom in futuristic neon. XD Still, it has a nice skylight, plenty of seating, a good bar, and it’s functional enough – the chef comes out to take your order, but – *shrug* He had fun, and that’s what matters!

B) Then it was time for some OXtra and OXBox! Featuring –

I. “7 Bosses Who Beat Themselves For You: Commenter Edition” – another list from OXtra about the bosses who didn’t actually give you that much of a fight! From a mad scientist in the Borderlands 2 DLC who ends up killing himself falling down some holo-stairs, to the Rhino in the 2000 Spider-Man game being easily tricked into running into generators that shock away his health bar, to the old classic Bowser at the end of Super Mario 3 accidentally busting his way through his own bridge in an attempt to flatten the plumber, these bosses just weren’t having a good day. At least it gives our heroes a bit of a breather!

II. “Resident Evil 8 Village: WEREWOLF VILLAGE! (Resident Evil 8 Village Demo)” – okay, I forgot that I only had the one list video in my Watch Later, but this is arguably better. Who doesn’t want to see Jane, Andy, and Mike – having already trekked through the castle of the vampires – take on the village of werewolves at the center of the latest RE sequel? :D This time the trio actually got to play as Ethan instead of “random vampire dinner” and look around for a bit longer – thirty minutes, in fact. Those thirty minutes were spent, in true RE fashion, searching out crests to open a gate! Along the way, Ethan had to escape some very werewolfy villagers; help a young lady, Elena, and her father get to safety in a neighbor’s house; get lectured by the town drunk about how everyone’s dead; participate in a very creepy prayer to “Mother Miranda;” watch Elena’s father start succumbing to the lycanthropy and start murdering everyone and burning the house down; attempt to ram his way through a very solid wall with a rusty truck and fail miserably; watch Elena die in the house fire after just barely making it to the roof (and right after Jane insisted Elena had plot armor!); and finally get the gate open after getting the damn crest out of its mini-shrine. Andy even had time to take a photo of Werewolf Dad along the way! XD I get the feeling I’m gonna enjoy seeing this on their channel. :)

C) Then, this evening, we started with Call Me Kevin and GTA V! Yes, we had more Chaos Mod – buuuut Kevin ALSO installed a mod that lets you play as a police officer! So THAT was interesting. Mostly because Officer Dunce was not afraid to commit many, many crimes in his attempts to round up perps. I mean, you know it’s going to be an interesting first day when everyone around you explodes the minute you get out of the station with your new outfit and your dunce hat. XD There was a lot of being launched into the sky to check out the city from the air; tazing random people for having bad shirts, only to be immediately hit by a drive-by; killing perps, only to be taken out by Extreme Griefer Jesus; and taking advantage of a clothing change to rob a store, only to be smashed into the ground by extreme gravity and eventually exploded by explosive vehicles and RPGs. Basically, unlike in reality, Officer Dunce got his a LOT. XD

D) And then we had GrayStilllPlays and more Minecraft fuckery! Today’s messing with the zeroes involved “titan” versions of enemies – giant creatures and monsters that, when slain, explode into amazing loot. This would have been enough, except that Gray put them on a timer – the first one falls at 60 seconds, then the second at 59, and then so on and so forth. . .yeah, by the time Gray managed to actually get to the end and fight the Ender Dragon, the Titans were falling so fast and furious his game was lagging like crazy. XD Gray spent a lot of his time just running from the chaos he created – often straight into lava. XD I mean, he did manage to kill a bunch of them (and a bunch more were killed just by spawning into walls and such), but damn – I fully expected the game to crash before he managed to complete it. Damn, Gray, are you THAT dedicated to breaking this game?? XD

E) And one quick one from the Recommendeds – what happens if you completely ignore Danse and the others at Cambridge police station until AFTER you’ve completed the entire main quest with the Minutemen? Well, Danse just hands over Righteous Authority for helping them out with the feral ghouls (which yes, they are still fighting), then goes immediately into his endgame dialogue praising your character for starting a new era of peace before walking off into the station. AKA, sorry Danse stans, you ain’t getting him as a companion unless you help him out a LOT earlier!

2. Write some more on "In A World Of His Own": Check – as it currently stands, I’m halfway through the epilogue, which is just Victor and Alice dropping by to announce their engagement to the King and Queen of Hearts. Alice thought it only proper, given that the King is based on Victor these days. If I don’t bulk it up a little more, I should be able to wrap this up by Friday! Yay! :)

3. Play Sims 4 (start Eric's Paranormal Stuff Newcrest Adventures): Check – though admittedly, most of my playsession was looking at Eric’s house with its weird triangle extension and going “okay, I have to fix this now.” Made it so he only has one diagonal wall near the back (so the side is now more a box with one corner cut off), then updated the windows, rearranged some furniture, changed up some colors, got him a few better things, and sold most of the cop stuff he’d earned because he’s changing careers soon. (I kept the flagpole, admittedly – I like the flag! And a few things that are on a wall that nobody’s ever gonna see.) And, yes, I did set his lot type to “haunted house” – not that it made a difference for most of the day. XD Eric spent most of the day with a new friend, Anissa, celebrating “Talk Like A Pirate Day” and dancing with her. He also kept working on his Charisma skill (he’s so close to having the “Friend of the World” aspiration complete!), and successfully taught Laserwolf to lie down. :) And he did end up interacting with a few specters when night fell! One didn’t like him, but the other one did, so that’s good. Now I just gotta find a spot for a séance table, and we can begin his new career as a medium!

4. Get in a workout: Check – another 25 on the bike, and another 25 with “Nuka-World Level One Survival!” Started Episode 4 with Jon deciding that, if his power armor isn’t good enough to take on the Galactic Zone, it’s definitely time to get some better gear. And he knew just how to do it too – go out into the wider world and start stalking random fights the unnamed raider gang members have with random enemies! The plan was to hang around, shoot a few people as necessary for experience, then loot the corpses for better gear than poor Minnie was wearing. How did the plan work out?

Fight One – some Operators versus some low-level scavengers holed up in a house. Not a lot of great gear, though Minnie did at least pick up some bottlecaps.

Fight Two – some Disciples against some Super Mutants in the Wexton Shovel Museum. Jon was surprised by this, as he thought the museum was a guaranteed Gunner spawn, but apparently not! Minnie stayed well out of it as long as she could, though she did get a chance to pick off the Super Mutant Enforcers who had been badly hurt by the Disciples. Unfortunately, there were more of them than she first anticipated – and not all of them were armed with boards. In the end, she dragged a couple of dead Disciples to a safe area near the museum, looted a few better bits of arm armor (had to reject a chest piece because it would drop her carry capacity to unacceptable levels), then booked it out of there.

Fight Three – some Operators against some Gunners, who had immediately moved into the house the scavengers were occupying. Jon was confused but amused – and happily, while the Gunners were largely low-level, one of them DID have a nice scoped Hardened Sniper Rifle on him! Minnie happily took that, along with a better chest piece and some better Pack underarmor (more strength is always a good thing), then headed off to a section of the surrounding world where Jon knew some traders were –

Who had all been killed by Bloodworm Larva, who soon made short work of Minnie too. Damn.

Fight One, Reloaded – some Operators versus Gunners at that same house again – and happily, one of them had an even BETTER version of the sniper rifle, so Jon didn’t have to suffer its loss, yay~

Fight Two, Reloaded – Disciples versus Super Mutants again at the Museum – Minnie provided sniper support, then went and looted the only safe corpse for some better Disciple underarmor (now with more agility and endurance for Minnie) and armor bits, so at least she looks more badass now.

Fight Three, Reloaded – Some wandering Operators against the wildlife, after Jon came across them, found a Legendary, and started luring Cave Crickets over in the hopes of getting his Legendary gear. Nothing doing, sadly – they got him to mutate, but weren’t able to actually finish him off. Disappointing.

So yeah, not great pickings, but at least Minnie has a decent gun and better armor now! And I left it with some more Pack members about to take on the Museum (I guess they want their turn against the Super Mutants), so she might get something even better yet! We’ll see!

5. Keep up on tumblr queues: Check – Thursday and Friday on Victor Luvs Alice are completely set, and I have the music video for the song I want to feature (one of the new Poets of the Fall ones I found recently) up in a draft of a Saturday post. I’ll have to finish it off tomorrow, but at least it’s there!

Not bad, not bad. . .wish I could have done a little more with that last one, but I got distracted when I turned my first day with Eric into a building episode. XD Ah well, I'm still ahead of the game in terms of queued posts, so no real worries yet. Right now I just need to answer my DW comment, then head to bed. Work tomorrow -- at least it's only another two days! And then, uh, a dentist appointment on Saturday, but. . .well. We'll just get through that and then the rest of the weekend is mine. *nods* Focus on the positive! Night all!
